Prototypes and Engineering
Most production castings start as prototypes.
Our company is geared to the needs of component engineers to provide design, fit and
functional samples rapidly and to requirements. Working from simple sketches or
sophisticated CAD models, our network of pattern resources can start your project
today. A wide range of casting alloys combined with close tolerance dry sand molds
allow us to simulate most casting processes. We now offer prototype permanent mold tooling in instances when the prototype casting has to be exactly like
production.
Casting Simulation
We can inlcude Casting Simulation for your project using the latest casting simulation software from Simtec/Wincast.
We are able to simulate flow and solidification for all the common casting processes. The software can also predict dendrite arm spacing,
casting distortion and tooling distortion. Since the software uses a FEM mesh, it is now capable of exporting residual casting stress data
into most FEM analysis packages for more accurate stress analysis.
Secure File Transfer System
Eck Industries offers a Secure File Transfer System for our customers to send to, and receive from Eck Industries, files that are too large to send via e-mail. (In excess of 3 MB)
If you want to send files to one of our staff and have not used the system before, please send your request to become a user to ftasupport@eckindustries.com with the words New user and your main Contact at Eck in the Subject line. You will then receive an invitation to use the system. Follow the instructions for logging on and changing your password, save the link to the logon page in your favorites and you will be ready to go.
Please note: By using our Secure File Transfer System only the intended recipients that you designate can receive the files you send.
CAD Systems
Currently, we are running Unigraphics NX4, Pro/E Wildfire and Autodesk Inventor II.
File formats we can currently manipulate (in order of preference):
Native Unigraphics, Native Pro/E or Native Mechanical Desktop
IGES
Parasolid File (*.x_t)
STEP 203, STEP 214
CATIA (Note: If native files are CATIA, we prefer them over IGES)
DXF or DWG
ACIS (*.SAT)
Media
We can send and receive files electronically (via Email or Secure File Transfer). We can also send and receive files via
CD-R or DVD.
